2024 Subaru BRZ tS Performance Features & Design Cues

The Subaru BRZ is getting a brand-new trim level for the 2024 model year, and it’s going to be called tS. This new trim level is focused on performance, making the sporty coupe even better at what it already does. While it might not be the next STI trim level that a lot of enthusiasts have been waiting for with baited breath, it is equipped with all kinds of performance-enhancing features and unique sporty design cues – including an STI-tuned suspension system. Performance-enhancing Features

Although the BRZ tS will be powered by the same 2.4L BOXER engine – capable of generating 228 horsepower – as the rest of the BRZ family, it is still the best performing BRZ ever built thanks to a wide range of performance-enhancing features. Enhancing performance isn’t always about increasing power, and in this case it’s enhanced largely thanks to that aforementioned STI-tuned suspension system as well as a Brembo braking system.

Let’s focus first on the suspension system. It includes Hitachi dampers both in the front and rear of the vehicle, tuned of course by the folks at Subaru Tecnica International. This new system capitalizes on the fact that the BRZ is lightweight and has an ultra-low center of gravity to deliver more precise handling, greater flexibility and better control altogether.

Next, every high-performance vehicle deserves a set of Brembo brakes, and that’s certainly the case for this one. The high-performance system includes a set of gold-painted four-piston calipers in the front and two-piston calipers in the rear as well as larger pads and rotors than normal. Together, this increases the vehicle’s stopping power and fade resistance while also enhancing its pedal feel.

In addition to these two major changes, the BRZ tS will come equipped with 18” wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires.

Unique Design Cues

On the outside of the vehicle you’ll recognize the new performance trim level thanks to a series of tS badging, but also due to a Crystal Black Silica finish on both the exterior foldable mirrors and the roof-mounted shark fin antenna. On the inside, blue stitching in various parts of the cabin set apart the tS from other trim levels.
