A Make It Your Own! WRX TR Debuts At Subie Fest
If you are a rally fan or used to race the Subaru Impreza Rally Edition car in the first-ever Gran Turismo, the Subaru WRX is a car that holds a special place in the automotive heart. New for 2024 is a special version of the latest WRX called the TR. The WRX TR is, as Subaru says, a “new performance-focused” WRX. Subaru debuted the new extraordinary TR at Subiefest Florida at Daytona International Speedway on October 7th.
New Brakes
The TR features new Brembo 6-piston front and 2-piston rear brakes with red calipers, and they employ larger rotors, pads, and brake master cylinder for the best-stopping performance.
Suspension & Wheels
Subaru engineered the new WRX TR with stiffer springs, revised damping rates for optimal body control and steering accuracy, and upgraded steering for a better road feel. Unique 19-inch wheels are wrapped in 245/35/R19 Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires that will give drivers more control and confidence in wet and dry conditions.
Interior
The 2024 WRX TR has Recaro black and gray Ultrasuede front seats as standard, along with a moonroof delete for a lower center of gravity and less weight.
Subaru EyeSight
For the first time, Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is now standard on all manual transmission-equipped WRX models, including the TR. As an award-winning safety system, Eyesight includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking System, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, and Lead Vehicle Start Alert.
Infotainment
With the SUBARU STARLINK, buyers will have an 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system as standard. The infotainment touchscreen display includes wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 4-month free Platinum subscription to SiriusXM.
AWD & Engine
Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive comes standard on all Subaru models except the BRZ. Power comes from a 2.4-liter Turbocharged Subaru BOXER 4-cylinder engine that produces 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque through a 6-speed manual transmission only. Active Torque Vectoring is also standard through the WRX line.
Pricing will be announced by Subaru later this year, and the WRX TR will be available for purchase in the first quarter of 2024.
