Hidden Gems in Your Subaru

Subaru is the perfect car for people who are looking for a reliable and safe vehicle that will last them for years. In 2022, Subaru’s lineup comes packed with more technology, safety features and options than ever before. Every year, Subaru updates models to bring you the latest and greatest but let’s face it – sometimes it can be difficult to keep up with all the bells and whistles.
Did you know that there are hidden gems in your Subaru? No, they’re not explicitly kept secret, but these functions may not be the most obvious in your vehicle and can often be overlooked. Let’s take a look at some of the interesting but lesser known things you can do with your Subaru.
The Hidden Key Inside Your Fob
Inside your Subaru key fob is a hidden key! On the backside of the fob, press the button while sliding the top part of the key fob outward. Watch as your key fob pops right out, giving you access to a hidden key you can use to start your vehicle the old fashioned way.
Stash Your Keys Somewhere Safe
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could leave your keys somewhere safe without having to worry about them on you personally, like when you’re exploring the outdoors, exercising or at the beach? Check your owner’s manual to see if your Subaru model, like the newer Subaru Forester or Outback models, allows you to unlock your vehicle using a five digit code you can program into your trunk. This also works if you accidentally lock the vehicle’s keys inside of the car!
Disable the seatbelt chime
The chime sound that plays when you lock your seatbelt may be iconic, but sometimes we just want silence. Many Subaru models allow you to disable the chime sound. Just turn the ignition on without starting the car, and insert the driver’s seatbelt into the lock twenty times within thirty seconds.
