How Does Advanced Parking Work In the 2023 Subaru Solterra

Today, we are going to focus on one in particular, know as the Advanced Parking system. Have you ever struggled fitting your vehicle into a parking space or parallel parking? Before you start using the system, however, you’ll want to know where the Advanced Parking button is in your vehicle. The button can be located underneath your vehicle’s infotainment screen and features a steering wheel with a P in the top left corner.

Perpendicular Parking With Advanced Parking

1. Locate an open parking spot and align your driver’s side door with the open space perpendicularly, coming to a stop.
2. Pressed the Advanced Parking button.
3. Assuming the Solterra determines it can fit in the open space, you will then see the parking space displayed on the infotainment screen.
4. Through a button in the bottom left of the screen, you can select to back into the space or drive forward into it. Choose your preferred option at this point.
5. Press Start.
6. Release the brake pedal and the vehicle will begin parking. You should still pay attention to your surroundings to ensure safe parking and follow any prompts on the screen.

Parallel Parking in the Solterra

Parallel parking with the Solterra is just as easy using Advanced Parking. The instructions for parallel parking are nearly the same, but instead of aligning just your driver’s side door with the parking space, you’ll want to align the entire vehicle with the full length of the space so that the Solterra can better determine if it can fit.
