What kinds of environmental partnerships & initiatives does Subaru have?
The automotive industry as a whole has taken tons of strides towards making vehicles more environmentally friendly. Subaru of America takes the environment much more seriously than just designing and building more friendly vehicles, though. While that’s certainly a big part of their plans, as proven by the introduction of their first fully electric vehicle this year, the 2023 Subaru Solterra, it’s not where things end. That’s because, to put it plainly, Subaru Loves the Earth. The company has had and continues to have many environmental partnerships and initiatives, so we thought we’d highlight some of them.

Electrification Plans
First things first, we wanted to touch briefly on the brand’s plans for electrification moving forward. Globally, the Subaru Corporation has set a goal of providing electrification options in every single one of their vehicles by roughly 2035. While the 2023 Subaru Solterra certainly kicked things off, it will definitely not be the end of electrification for the Subaru brand.
National Park Partnership
Subaru has had a partnership with the National Park Conservation Association and the National Park Foundation since 2014. The crux of this partnership has been the Don’t Feed the Landfills program, a Zero-Landfill Initiative based mostly in Yosemite, Denali and Grand Teton – three incredible national parks. The initiative saw over 1,000 bins for recycling and garbage placed throughout the parks, which has helped lead to over 17 million pounds of waste being diverted from landfills. The partnership has also resulted in over $63 million dollars of donations to national parks throughout the country.
National Forest Foundation
In addition to national parks, Subaru has done a lot of work with national forests as well. By partnering with the National Forest Foundation, the company has ensured that over half a million trees have been planted in California and another half a million throughout Idaho, Oregon and Washington. These new trees are planted in areas devastated by wildfires as part of a reforestation effort.
These are just two of the biggest aspects of the Subaru brand’s commitment to the environment. No one can deny the fact that Subaru Loves the Earth, and we’re pleased to be a part of that family. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call here at Rairdon’s Subaru of Auburn.
