Share the Love Event: What Is It and When Did Subaru Start It?

Subaru is more than a car company, and we get it… All companies say they are so special that they are more than “just a company.” In this case, we think it’s actually true. That’s because of Subaru’s Share the Love Event (among other things), which is returning for its 15th consecutive year.

Like us here at Rairdon’s Subaru of Auburn, the Subaru brand believes in helping those in need. That belief is at the heart of Subaru and is the reason Share the Love has continued for 15 years.

What Is the Share the Love Event?

The amazing thing about the Share the Love Event is that it isn’t just for Subaru and its dealers. You can participate in it too.

Here’s how it works… Any time a new Subaru vehicle is purchased or leased during the event, Subaru donates $250 to the purchaser’s (that’s you) choice of charity. Dealers like us then get to add up to two local charities to receive an extra $50 each. It’s an amazing way for all of us to work together to give back to our community and help those in need.

This year’s Share the Love Event ran from Nov. 17, 2022 through Jan. 3, 2023. If you’re reading this at the time of posting, unfortunately, you just missed it. That said, we have no reason not to expect Subaru won’t bring back the Share the Love Event for its 16th year come later in 2023 and in future years.

How Current Subaru Owners Can Participate In Share the Love

If you already own a Subaru but want to give back in a similarly unique way, you don’t have to feel left out. For every Subaru vehicle service that is performed, Subaru dealers will donate $5 to their registered hometown charity partner.

With all this giving combined, over 15 years, Subaru, Subaru dealers and Subaru drivers have worked together to donate more than $227 million to charity.
